Monerans
The Kingdom of single celled organisms without a cell nucleus. Monera are the most primitive living things and are thought to have been the first to evolve.

Examples:

Protistas
Protists are any of a large variety of usually one-celled organisms belonging to the kingdom Protista (or Protoctista). Some protists resemble plants in that they produce their own food by photosynthesis, while others resemble animals in consuming organic matter for food. Protist cells are often structurally much more elaborate than the cells of multicellular plants and animals. Protists include the protozoans, most algae, diatoms, oomycetes, and the slime molds. They are nucleus and organelles . Also called protoctist.

1.) Protozoans: " animal-like " no cell walls, no chlorophyll.

One protozoan located in estuaries is Alexandrium. Its scientific name is Alexandrium fundyense. It is located in the northwestern part of North America, including the Gulf of Maine. A cool , interesting fact is that It is toxic!
