Lost in the Temperate Rain Forest

It was early in the morning. Phil, the bear was lost. He was on his way to visit his relatives, but ended up lost. Phil had been hungry for days, and had found no food. There were no berries or honey or wild animals for him to eat. There were also no streams for him to drink. So, that means he couldn't get fish.

The next day, Phil made it to a temperate rain forest. Normally, you would think that there are lots of animals in a temperate rain forest, but not when a huge bear is around.

Just then, he saw a deer in a distance. The deer didn't notice Phil, so he climbed quickly up a tree. His plan was, when the deer is at the bottom of the tree, he would jump from a tree, and kill the deer. Phil then heard a chirping sound and when he looked up, it was a bird.

Frantically, the bird saw the bear, and demanded, "Stay away from my nest!"

"Quiet, or else I'll ruin your nest!" Phil warned.

"Why are you hiding in a tree?" The bird asked.

"I need to eat that deer, and I have been hungry for days." The bear answered.

The bird asked. "Just out of curiosity, are you going to eat me too?"

"Maybe, but you are too small to eat now. Like I said, I have been hungry for days, and I need to eat something big to keep me stabilize." Phil answered. "I have a question for you too. Do you hurt trees by taking its twigs?"

"Of course not." The bird replied. "It's just a matter of fact that I get the benefit of making my nest out of twigs, while the tree does not care."

"I see." Phil said. "Now, if I eat that deer, will it mind?"

"Of course it will." The bird said. "The deer will get hurt."

The bird had another question and asked, "I'm guessing that you are not a vegeterian. Am I correct?"

Phil replied, "Actually, I eat other small animals and some plants. For instance, I eat berries. Well, it was nice talking to you." said Phil.

Phil saw the deer was close. He was ready to jump. The deer came closer, and closer. Phil got to the edge of the branch he was on. The deer walked slowly towards the tree. It was right next to the tree and the bear jumped and… missed. Hearing the thump from the bear hitting the ground the deer took off. He wasn’t very fast because the he had a parasite inside of him. The parasite was taking all the nutrients in the food the deer ate. The deer was close to dieing. If the bear ate the parasite he would later die. Phil didn’t realize how slow the deer was because he was too hungry to think. All he wanted was food. He didn’t even notice how much it hurt when he fell to the ground.

Phil chased him for a short period of time before he got the deer. When he was done eating he went to a stream nearby for a drink. When he was there he saw a bee on a flower. Phil wondered what he was doing sitting on a flower. So he asked the bee what he was doing.

“What are you doing on that flower?” Phil asked.

“I’m collecting pollen from flowers to bring back to my bee hive.” The bee replied “ And when I take pollen from flower to flower it helps the flowers.”

"How dose that help the flowers?" Phil asked.

"When i go from flower to flower the pollen gets all over my body. the pollen from one flower, gets on the other flower, and pollinates that flower." the bee said.

Eventually, Phil died. He died because he ate the dear with the parasite in it. The parasite then went to the bear causing him to die.
