The average amount of precipitation is about 200cm. Some other warmer areas would have an amount of 350cm of precipitation. In winter, the precipitation is about 51-76 cm. The Temperate Rain Forest only gets snow in winter when it's in the higher elevations. When it's not in the higher elevations, it doesn't snow. Summers are usually foggy, wet, dry, humid, and cool. Spring and fall are mild. The warmest temperature that the Temperate Rain Forest can get is 20°C. Temperate Rain Forests are located near the coast, it is above 0°C. When the Temperate Rain Forests are offshore, the climate tends to change, and gets warmer. It is located in the temperate zone at 38-56 degrees South latitude and 38-61 degrees North latitude.

This is a small biome in terms of where it is located. It is along the northwestern coast of North America from northern California through southern Alaska. Some smaller areas are Chile, New Zealand, Australia, and Europe. The Pacific Northwest develops moisture-rich air masses from the Pacific Ocean. The ocean then rises and stays near coastal mountain ranges in Oregon and Washington. In general, Temperate Rain Forests are often on the coast of oceans. That is why it is not too cold or too hot.
